FAQ

Where is it?
Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is in Southeastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula.

What language do they speak there?
BiH has three official languages: Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian. From what I can tell right now, the only major difference is Latin script vs. Cyrillic script. Another common question is do you speak Bosnian. The answer is no. I speak no Bosnian but I am hoping my Ukrainian will help me out with this one ;)

Is it safe?
Yes, after reading the Department of State "Safety and Security" tab about BiH, the biggest danger seems to be rowdy crowds at soccer games. This could be comparable to rowdy crowds at football games in the United States.

When do you leave and come back?
I will leave Minnesota at 7:00 AM on August, 14th. I have a layover at O'Hare before meeting up with the rest if the American Councils kids at Dulles around 2. From there, our flight takes off at 5 and we will have a layover in Munich before landing in Sarajevo around noon on the 15th! I will come home about mid-June 2015.
